I started playing guitar at 50, discovered cigar box guitars and began to build them, finding ways to improve stability and playability while keeping the primitive look and sound. I enjoy American folk, country and southern rock music.
I live on a 22 acre farm with a spring fed stocked lake. We renovated the 1930's barn into a party barn (I call it "Ray's Barn and Grill") where you might find some guys pickin' and grinnin' or out around the fire pit on a cool night. We added the sheds on the corn crib to house the 1952 one-ton Chevy flatbed and the fully restored 1934 Allis-Chalmers tractor.
Momma always said pick it and it will never heal. That is certainly not true about making your own music! Nothing soothes the soul and takes you to another place in this hectic world than picking out a tune....especially from a porch swing.
